Hi-Grade Computers has introduced its first ultramobile notebook based on Intel’s new Centrino mobile technology. The Notino 1000 offers wireless connectivity and more than 4.5 hours battery life, thanks to Intel’s new Mobile Pentium M processor at up to 1.6 GHz. Power management features are also incorporated in the 855GM mobile chipset, another component of Centrino, that includes power efficient integrated 3D graphics with performance optimised sharing of the system memory. The Centrino technology also incorporates WiFi pre-certification for immediate access to ready Wi-Fi networks and public-access hotspots. The notebook includes three USB 2.0 and one IEEE 1394 port. A Notino C1000 with a 1.3 GHz Pentium M processor, 256MB of DDR RAM, 20GB hard disc, integrated CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive, Windows XP and antivirus software will sell for $2995. Hi-Grade notebooks carry a two-year international warranty, including accidental damage cover and are available from QD Innovative. Other configurations will be available soon.
