Distributor, Meier Business Systems, has had a busy few weeks. In late October, the company opened new corporate headquarters in Melbourne and sponsored the International Spectrum 2003 conference in Sydney.
Susie Siegesmund, director of UniVerse and UniData (u2) products for IBM Data Management Solutions, one of the distributor’s closest vendor partners, opened the new MBS Corporate headquarters on October 21.
Managing Director Martin Meier, and Siegesmund then travelled to the beachside Sydney suburb of Manly to attend the International Spectrum Conference, a developer event for users of MultiValue Databases.
Some of these technologies date back decades, but Siegesmund’s presentation at the event discussed several new releases and upgrades on the horizon for IBM aimed at continuing to support users and propel the technology forward.
The next release of UniVerse for example (10.1) will have built in support for extensible mark-up language (XML).
