NETGEAR stregthens its channel programs

(Sydney, Australia) September 9, 2003 -- To support its expansion within the Australian market, NETGEAR has strengthened its channel program with the addition of a Bid Desk and the Powershift Plus program.

NETGEAR's Business Development Manager for the Corporate Market, Katrina Myles, said that the Powershift channel program is proving to be an essential communication tool between NETGEAR and it's associated partners.

"As NETGEAR's products are only available through the channel, it has always been important for us to maintain a strong relationship with our partners, providing them with any support that they may require to offer their customers best-of-breed solutions. Now, as we continue to expand our product portfolio, it is important that we similarly broaden our channel to include more specialist partners who are capable of continuing this level of service to our corporate customers," Myles said

An important part of NETGEAR's channel strategy has been the Powershift program, which provides support and ever-increasing opportunities to more than 500 authorized resellers, who supply products to NETGEAR's customers. Now, through the development of its Powershift Plus program, NETGEAR hopes to recruit a limited number of specialist partners who are capable of targeting it's range of business class products to the corporate market.

To better support the channel programs, NETGEAR has also introduced a Bid Desk, to allow it's partners to take advantage of competitive situations and provide the best possible solutions for their customers. The Bid Desk is open to partners who are part of either the Powershift or Powershift Plus programs, allowing them to take advantage of special bidding prices and support when they register a tender or large sales opportunity with NETGEAR. The Bid Desk acts to strengthen the relationship between NETGEAR and its partners, and reassures customers that any potential dealings are backed by the complete support of the vendor.

NETGEAR feels that the development of comprehensive channel programs will assist with its increasing penetration into the corporate market, where it is already developing business class products and service programs that best cater to the requirements of this sector.
