Belkin speeds up 802.11b

Belkin has launched a suite of 802.11b wireless LAN networking products designed to run at the high speed of 54mbps. Consisting of a Wireless Cable/DSL Gateway Router, a Wireless Network Access Point, a Wireless Notebook Network Card and a Wireless Desktop Network Card, Belkin claims it is one of the best value high-speed Wi-Fi options available for SoHo and SME users. The range is backward compatible with current 802.11b products. An Easy Install Wizard is included to help end users install the products without having to deal with IP addresses and host names in order to connect the router to the Internet. The routers can be set up manually through a Web interface for more advanced configurations. Belkin Parental Control allows users to select from more than 30 categories of Web sites to be blocked to prevent child or staff access. The suite will be available through Ingram Micro in April. RRP: router $299.95, access point $279.95, notebook network card $149.95, desktop network card $149.95
