If you’ve ever thought that attending one more meeting would drive you to drink, spare a thought for the poor folk from Leading Edge Computers (NSW).
Not that we’re for one moment suggesting that the Leading Edge mob are tipplers, but when your annual NSW meeting is held in the Hunter Valley, surely it would be rude not to sample the local produce?
The gathering of more than 100 dealers and suppliers over three days was held at Hunter Valley Gardens, just a hop, skip and a jump away from Pokolbin’s boutique winery Pepper Tree Wines. So, all in the name of fostering local business, the Leading Edge crew dutifully tore themselves away from the job at hand for a little hands-on wine appreciation.
As far as ARN can recall, everyone left the wine tasting under their own steam. If only the same could be said of the supplier dinner which followed. We have it on good authority that Leading Edge’s marketing coordinator, Craig Kirby, needed a little help getting back to his room after a long evening of serious business discussion.
But Craig’s commitment to work was exceeded by the dedication of the Tech Pac crew — some of whom where MIA at breakfast the next day. And just to prove our reporting isn’t biased — our reporter readily confesses to have missed breakfast as well. Damn those Hunter wines!
