PDF Writing Software on every workstation

 • 05 February, 2004 16:29

It’s been a big few weeks for rapidly expanding Melbourne software house, Avalanche Media culminating with today’s launch of Avalanche as the new Australian distributor for the enormously popular and award winning FinePrint and pdf Factory range of products.

The appointment comes shortly after the sale, by the US distributors, of a huge 110,000 user licence for pdf Factory Pro and FinePrint to Ernst and Young (US).

pdf Factory and pdf Factory Pro are easy-to-use and inexpensive alternatives to Adobe Acrobat for creating Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files.

FinePrint provides enhanced printing controls, enabling users to easily print multiple document pages onto a single sheet of paper, print booklets, preview and delete pages from a print job before going to the printer, embed letterheads, superimpose watermarks, and much more. It enables organisations to save significantly on toner, paper, ultimately saving money and trees.

"pdfFactory and pdfFactory Pro give those who want PDF-writing capabilities even less reason to spend several hundred dollars more for Adobe Acrobat," Peter Cameron, Director - Business Development for Avalanche Media said. "Our goal is to provide all of the functionality that most of our customers need at a price-point that would enable users, be they individuals, small businesses or large corporations, to have PDF writing software on every workstation."

Speaking at today's launch, Cameron continued "Organisations, large or small, can no longer afford to take the risks associated with electronically transmitting documents in a manner in which they can be altered or amended. Our products enable users to send all documents, including sensitive documents such as contracts, corporate information, advice and other copyrighted materials in a secure manner"

For highly sensitive documents, users of pdf Factory Pro are able to choose the additional security of creating documents with 40 or 128 bit encryption and optional document passwording. This is in addition to the ability to restrict copying, printing and editing of the PDF file.

A handy feature of pdf Factory Pro is the preview window that allows you to rearrange, delete pages and combine documents from multiple sources prior to the creation of a single PDF file.

"Avalanche’s appointment as Australian distributor for these products enables Australian clients to access strong local technical and user support. To provide Australia wide coverage we have ensured that support staff are available from start of business in Sydney until close of business in Perth" Cameron said.

Trial versions of pdfFactory, pdfFactory Pro and FinePrint are available for download at the Avalanche web site, FinePrint and pdfFactory are available for $74.95 (inc GST) while pdfFactory Pro is priced at $147.95. A special bundled price for pdf Factory and FinePrint is available for $119.95 and pdf Factory Pro and FinePrint bundle selling for $165.95. Quantity discounts are available.

Avalanche takes the risk out of purchasing these products by offering an unconditional 30 day money back guarantee.
