HP upgrades SME printers but not prices

HP will target the SME market with its new monochrome LaserJet 1300 and 2300 series printers. The 1300 is available for direct-connect use or with networking built in. The vendor claims it features 1200dpi resolution, an output rate of 19ppm and a first-page-out time of less than eight seconds for the same price as the 1200 model it supersedes. The 2300 series, which replaces the 2200 models, also boasts 1200dpi resolution, is capable of print speeds of up to 24ppm and has a first-page-out of less than 10 seconds. It combines networkability with remote management via the Embedded Web Server and has a new two-line control panel display. The LaserJet 1300 and 2300 models are distributed by Ingram Micro, Digiland, eXeed, Tech Pacific and Synnex. RRP: LaserJet 1300 series from $869, 2300 series from $1499.
