Melbourne-based, Infotronics Software, has signed an agreement to distribute the user account management software of Discus Data Solutions in Australia and New Zealand.
Discus is a Gold Certified Microsoft Partner based in the US, specialising in Windows, Active Directory and Exchange environments. Its product range cover account provisioning, directory and infrastructure management, account migration and self-service for resetting passwords.
Still an unknown presence on these shores, Discus products are used by Microsoft in the US and UK to manage its Active Directory network.
Infotronics has about 300 reseller and systems integrator partners in the region. The range of Discus product will be made broadly available but a certified partner program is also being launched for those wanting authorisation.
This will involve undergoing sales and technical training but those wanting to participate must be a registered Microsoft partner.
“Certified partners will receive better margins and, more importantly, access to add-on services,” Infotronics technical director, Phil Lancaster, said. “Installs often require add-on services in terms of delivering a solutions and the products also lend themselves to scripting, allowing resellers to do the customisation.”
Lancaster hopes to start running the Discus certification program within the next month, starting in Melbourne and spreading to other capital cities as interest grows.
