Boxed versions of PC security product, Zone Alarm, will be shipped to Australian resellers for the first time this week.
Queensland-based software publisher, Manaccom, will distribute the software to major retailers including Harvey Norman, Dick Smith and OfficeWorks as well as independent IT shops.
The Zone Alarm suite was previously only been available in downloadable format from Internet suppliers.
The free version of the entry-level firewall program has helped the company gain a user base of 35 million, according to Manaccom director, Ian Mackay.
"We are targeting the expert user community, those with small networks and home users," he said.
The products range includes program upgrades as well standard 12-month virus updates, Mackay said.
The Zone Alarm product range includes Zone Alarm Personal Firewall, Firewall Pro, Zone Alarm Security Suite and Zone Alarm Anti-virus.
"The Zone Labs product will turn the personal security software market upside down," Manaccom director of publishing, James Mackay, said. "We can't wait to take the world's most popular firewall product range to retail in Australia for the first time."
