Mitel IP handset has PDA integration

Mitel Networks is marketing its new 5230 IP Appliance as the first business desktop handset to fully integrate with a personal digital assistant (PDA). The vendor said this would allow users to access advanced IP telephony applications by docking a HP iPAQ into the 5230 IP Appliance. This transfers personal telephone preferences and security policies onto the PDA that can ActiveSync directly with the network and recharge batteries while in the cradle. It is the PDA that provides the graphical user interface for voice communications and data collaboration. Several Windows CE applications such as dial by address book and visual voicemail are already available. The 5230 IP Appliance is distributed by Damovo. RRP: $650
