Seccom Networks launching national reseller network

Sydney - May 5, 2005 – Leading Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) Seccom Networks has announced plans for a national reseller network. The company is negotiating with a number of potential partners and seeking other suitably qualified firms to join its new Reseller Network.

Buoyed by triple digit growth this year, Seccom Networks is increasing its strong hold on the MSSP market by partnering with national firms to resell its unique MSSP offerings.

Seccom Networks is a Platinum Partner of Fortinet, packaging security solutions that include Internet Connectivity, Security Appliances and 24 x 7 technical support and rapid replacement services. Seccom provides MSSP services to blue chip companies throughout Australia including LJ Hooker, Toyota Industrial, Australian Rugby Union and Manpower. Seccom also provides services to international businesses throughout New Zealand and various parts of Asia.

Unlike many other MSSPs entering the market, Seccom Networks offers only managed security solutions. This sharp focus has allowed the company to develop distinctive capabilities around security infrastructure management, security consulting, solutions design and technical support.

Colin MacKenzie, CEO Seccom Networks, says the launch of the Reseller Network is the next logical step in the company’s expansion.

“Seccom has been pursuing aggressive growth targets in an attempt to obtain a dominant market position within the MSSP space. Our national and international growth objectives are supported by a business development strategy which calls for an integrated B2C and B2B approach. Having expanded our services significantly, we are in a position to offer other resellers the opportunity to take advantage of the ongoing cash flows generated through the MSSP model.”

MacKenzie says there are significant barriers to entry for smaller players into the MSSP space because of the infrastructure and human resources required to provide a valuable outsourcing solution to customers.

He says: “The trend in Business Process Outsourcing supports the philosophy that companies need to focus on their core business. The Seccom Networks Reseller Network will enable IT companies of all sizes to gain access to the ongoing revenues within the MSSP space, without the significant infrastructure and resource costs.”

Seccom has developed a unique reseller model that enables its partners to leverage from Seccom’s experienced business development team to support the distribution process. Gavin Matthews, Director of Sales, said: “IT security requires a dynamic partnership arrangement where firms support each other in developing new opportunities. Passive partnership models do not work for either party.”

Seccom Networks is the latest company to join the growing trend in resellers offering companies a realistic way of developing passive cash flows.
