Oki C3100

Oki has launched a colour and mono printer catering to business, SMBs and the SOHO environment. According to the company, the C3100 is a 2-in-1 printer for the desktop that offers single pass tandem engine technology. With print speeds of 12ppm colour and 20ppm mono, together with lower running costs than colour inkjet printers, the C3100 enables individuals in business to print documents quickly, according to the company. The C3100 printed everything from business cards to 1.2M long banners, assisted by Oki’s template manager software, the company said. Platforms supported include: Windows98 / 98 SE / ME / 2000 Workstation / 2000 Professional / 2000 Server / 2000 Advanced Server / XP Professional / XP Home. Technical specs include: 12 pages per minute (ppm) colour, 20ppm mono print speed; 1200 x 600 dpi resolution; 32MB RAM, memory upgrades available; straight paper path for fewer jams and paper weights up to 203GSM; 300-sheet paper tray plus 100 sheet MPT; 3000-page toner capacity and easy to access toner cartridges; auto colour balance ensures colour consistency; automatic banner printing. Fuji Xerox DocuPrint C1618

Fuji Xerox is offering the DocuPrint C1618, a general office entry-level colour laser printer that prints at 16ppm in colour or black and white. The printer is compact in size with low ongoing operating costs, making it ideal for small to medium sized businesses, according to the company. It also offers out of the box network capabilities. The unit offers vivid colour printouts and crisp text across a range of media, including recycled paper and transparencies, the company added. The C1618 comes equipped with a 350MHz processor, 64MB of RAM (upgradeable to 320MB), automatic duplexing and a 500-sheet standard tray and 100-sheet multi-function tray, and is PC compatible. The product is distributed by Tech Pacific, Alloys International, BMS Technology and J Mills.

Konica Minolta magicolor 2300W

Konica Minolta has released the magicolor 2300W, a 4ppm colour and 16ppm black and white machine that comes standard with USB and Parallel. Based on the same technology used in the magicolor 2300 DeskLaser, the 2300W has been adapted for personal use. Print speeds are comparable to many black and white workgroup printers at 16 pages per minute in monochrome as well as 4 pages per minute in full colour, according to the company. The printer also features a 200-sheet paper input feeder, 1200 x 600 dpi Fine ART print quality, 32MB standard RAM, printer drivers and utilities for use with Windows 98se, Me, 2000, and XP. The printer can also be fitted with an optional duplexer. With a footprint of 492 x 360mm the magicolor 2300W took up about the same deskspace as a typical inkjet or personal monochrome laser printer, the company said. It has Parallel and USB connections for local connectivity, both of which provide “Plug-and-Play” compatibility with Microsoft Windows for ease of installation. Brother HL-2700CN

Brother has launched a network colour laser printer that offers 2400dpi class colour printing with high-resolution text and graphics. The HL-2700CN comes standard with network capabilities — 10/100BaseTX Internet Ethernet — which allows the printer to be shared amongst a workgroup. Users had the flexibility in connecting to computers systems via IEEE 1284 Parallel, 10/100BaseTX Ethernet and Hi-Speed USB2.0, the company said. Adding printing enhancement technologies including Colour Advanced Photo Technology and High Resolution Control, the higher resolutions allow for clearer text and graphic definitions, and increases the speed the printer processes jobs and outputs the first page. The paper tray capacity — up to 250 sheets — enabled the printer to handle large print jobs, the company said. A 64MB memory size lets users print out large documents or images. The printer also features a PCL driver for Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000 and XP. It is distributed in Australia by Teksel, Express Online, Pioneer Computers, Printcom, Leader, GET International, Xit distribution, Mega Electronics, and IT wholesale.

HP Colour Laserjet 1500L

The HP Colour Laserjet 1500L is a small business and home office printer that the company said is designed to allow SOHO offices to print out colour documents at an affordable rate, in-house. The unit is capable of printing 4 pages per minute in full colour and 16 pages per minute in black & white. The printouts are clear and sharp with the use of HP’s ImageREt 2400 technology and the 4-pass colour laser printing technology. The colour Laserjet supports Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and Macintosh 9.x and higher platforms. The unit weighs 21.5kg out of the box, measures 482 x 451 x 325mm, and features a control panel with LED lights defining the status of the printer and imaging drums. The product is distributed in Australia by Tech Pacific and Synnex.
