HP’s PSC 2110 all-in-one colour printer, scanner and copier offers up to 4800 colour dpi (on premium photo papers) for photo quality results and scans at up to 600 x 1200 dpi optical resolution. The compact unit produces traditional prints plus borderless 4x6-inch photos. Targeted at home office users, the device features an ink back-up mode that completes the print job even if a cartridge runs out. It will copy a wide variety of documents and small objects. The PSC 2110 is available now through HP distributors. RRP: $299.


According to Inform statistics, Lexmark’s All-In-One X75 is currently Australia’s top-selling inkjet MFP. Aimed at the SOHO and home user market, the X75 offers colour printing, scanning and copying functionality. It features a print resolution of up to 2400dpi at a print rate of 11ppm and an enhanced scan resolution of up to 9600dpi. The unit has a colour copy speed of four copies per minute and a black copy speed of nine copies per minute. It comes with a standard USB cable and is both Mac and PC compatible. The X75 is available now through Lexmark distributors. RRP: $199 (inc. GST).


Canon recently released a new inkjet photo printer, copier, scanner and fax in one machine — the imageClass MP730. This multifunction device offers up to 4800 x 1200 colour dpi with microscopic 2 picolitre droplets, prints and copies at up to 20ppm in black and white and 14ppm in colour, and scans at up to 1200 x 2400 dpi optical resolution. It features a 33.6 Kbps Super G3 colour fax with 30-sheet automatic document feeder, edge-to-edge borderless printing and copying, and prints photos directly from digital camera memory cards (CompactFlash, Smart Media, Memory Stick, SD Card and MultiMedia Cards). The unit is available in Australia now through Canon distributors. RRP: $749 (inc. GST).


The Samsung SCX 4216F is a fully featured MFD with a mono laser print engine, colour scanner, and a fax facility. At a compact 474x436x417mm, it weighs 13kg, offers a low cost-of-ownership, and with Samsung’s “Toner Save” function, prints for as low as 2.8c per page. Its 33.6kbps modem is supported with 4MB of memory and a transmission speed of three seconds at standard mode. The SCX 4216F can copy at 600x600dpi, scan at up to 4800dpi, and is also DRPD (distinctive ring pattern detection) enabled and compliant with Telstra Duet. The unit supports Windows 9x, ME, NT4.0, 2000 and XP platforms and is targeted at SOHOs and SMEs, especially professional services vertical markets such as dentists, GPs, real estate agents, lawyers and accountants. The PSC 2210 from HP is an all-in-one colour printer, flatbed fax, scanner and copier aimed at SMEs. It features flatbed colour faxing with a 33.6 Kbps fax modem and one-touch keys. The device scans at up to 1200 x 2400dpi and offers photo quality printing using up to 4800 optimised dpi colour. It prints photos directly from a digital camera without a PC, has a paper type sensor that automatically adjusts print settings for best quality, and can scan photos and text directly to email attachments.
