Maxspeed launches first thin client notebook

Maxspeed claims its new MaxBook 810 is the world’s first notebook-style, wireless thin client. Powered by Microsoft Windows XP embedded software, it weighs in at 1.2kgs and is the first model in the vendor’s new Mobile Access Device (MAD) product line. A customisation service is available to tailor for specific hardware or software embedding requirements. The MaxBook 810 comes with a standard 802.11b and optional wide-area wireless ready port as well as wired Ethernet and modem connections. Available configurations include XP, Linux and CE.NET. The MaxBook 810 is distributed by Maxspeed A/NZ, Technology Trading House, Computers Et Cetera, Stott & Hoare Business Computers and HBM. RRP: $2750
