Power and thermal vendor Delta Electronics has appointed David Leal as its new country manager in order to build out the regional coverage of all Delta Electronics’ business dealings in Australia.

The position was previously held by KK Chong, who is currently a senior director at Delta Thailand.

Based in Sydney for the role, Leal said he was excited to be working for the vendor, particularly one that was positioned in the green technology space.

"Delta's broad portfolio of green products and strong engineering focus gives me an excellent platform to further expand our market share in Australia," Leal said.

Jackie Chang, vice president of Delta Electronics Southeast Asia and India added that Leal is committed to supporting the Australian market.

"David's background in sales, marketing and engineering makes him the ideal choice to lead the overall development of our business," Chang said.

In addition to his appointment, Leal is also the country manager for Delta group business Eltek Australia and the Asia Pacific (APAC) regional president of Eltek, which means he currently is now covering all of Delta Electronics’ Australian business.

Prior to his appointment and his existing roles, Leal served in a number of engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing roles across Asia Pacific, Europe and North America for the last 20 years, which include Eltek as the vice president of sales, Power-One as the director of engineering and power systems and Invensys as an engineering manager.
