Servian partner Timothy Mannah named UK expansion lead

Plans to relocate in November and find company to acquire

Data analytics consultancy Servian has revealed details of its impending UK expansion, naming company partner Timothy Mannah as the country lead.

Mannah, who first joined the company in 2013 as head of digital and UX, will officially move to the London on 20 November to take on the role of Servian’s managing director for the UK.

Although Servian hopes to grow organically in the market, Mannah’s first-year mission will be to find a company to acquire "that offers an adjacent function".

"Servian is really excited at the opportunity ahead," Mannah told ARN. "Expanding into the UK market based on our organic and in-organic plan means that we will immediately land and grow our data and analytics capability based on our experience and referenceability whilst looking to acquire a business 

Before joining Servian six years ago, Mannah spent five years as executive manager for online sales at Commonwealth Bank, and before then served two years at UBank, also in online sales.

“Even though we are known as a data consultancy, cloud is our future," CEO Tony Nicol told ARN. "In the UK, cloud will be our focus, with Google being our go-to-market position. We have a fantastic relationship with Google Cloud in Australia, and we expect it to be the same in the UK.”

Mannah also added that Servian's vendor partnerships in the UK would be limited to Snowflake, Hashicorp and Databricks, as well as Google Cloud, despite also working with cloud providers Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure in Australia. 

Servian had earlier revealed its overseas ambitions upon announcing the recent acquisition of DevOps specialist Vibrato last month.

At the time, Servian also unveiled plans to expand into New Zealand, with Nicol stating he had recently “signed the paperwork” on launching across the Tasman.

With the UK and New Zealand ticked off, the company is next planning further expansion into South East Asia. 

Founded by Nicol in 2008, Servian now has offices in six Australian cities, plus ones in Auckland, London and Bangalore. In addition to the public cloud vendors, it also has technology partnerships with IBM, Tableau and Cloudera.
