JB Hi-Fi Solutions has signed a reseller agreement with Family Zone, a cyber safety and security vendor specialising in the education sector.
The non-exclusive deal will encompass Family Zone’s full suite of products and services, spanning consumer hardware, cyber safety and monitoring tools.
Covering both the sale of Family Zone’s products and their deployment, the agreement forms part of JB Hi-Fi’s school device program. According to Family Zone, the contract is open-ended and includes managed services provision post-deployment.
Hardware supplied will include FZONE mobile phones and the home networking product, the FZBOX.
Meanwhile, cyber safety solutions will cover SpotShield, which helps schools pick up when students are using hot spots to bypass school network restrictions. In addition, the two parties will also work together to deliver cyber security solutions to schools across Australia.
In a statement to shareholders, ASX-listed JB Hi-Fi claimed the “rapid adoption of mobile and cloud-based” technologies is creating an “environment open to cyber attack”.
“Our exciting partnership with Family Zone allows us to rapidly expand our capability and capacity, reaching more education clients than ever before,” JB Hi-Fi Solutions head of practices Jordan Barry said.
Family Zone MD Tim Levy added that the partnership would help the company expand its reach and streamline the management of its solutions.
Earlier this year, JB Hi-Fi Solutions, the arm of the retailer focused on providing products, maintenance and professional services, posted "double-digit" growth in sales during the first half of the 2019 financial year.
