Cyber security vendor Bitdefender has appointed Nextgen as its distributor for the A/NZ region.
Bitdefender A/NZ regional director Demetrios Georgiou said it continues to experience growth in the region and the relationship with Nextgen will help reach a broader audience.
“With the combination of our existing sales and marketing teams, we now have the flexibility required to rapidly scale into new, strategic markets,” Georgiou said.
“For us it was a no-brainer, and we are excited by the prospect of this new initiative brings to all of our A/NZ channel partners.”
Nextgen managing director Gavin Lawless said Bitdefender was an ideal fit for its advanced enterprise software strategy.
“We have been acknowledged at a global level for our innovative approach to distribution. It’s what we call ‘distribution reinvented’ — and it relies on strategic partnerships with leading technology providers such as Bitdefender,” Lawless said.
In order to help support its local growth, Bitdefender has made some appointments along the way with Shane Hoffman joining the team to lead its A/NZ channel strategy.
Hoffman joined Bitdefender in June, having previously worked for Dicker Data, Sophos, Google and Cavalry IT.
Matt Manoli also joined the vendor in November as its senior manager in field and channel marketing, and previously worked for companies such as LivePerson, Anittel, Arnage and International Hospitality Enterprises.
Last year, Bitdefender bought its regional distribution partner, SMS eTech in a bid to officially establish its presence in A/NZ.
In June, the vendor also appointed Terence Ng to lead its regional business development efforts across Asia Pacific.
