An upgrade to the vendor’s existing NAS-4020, this desktop network attached storage unit is based on the same chassis design but has a more powerful CPU and triple Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. IEI claims the introduction of an Intel Celeron 1.7GHz processor has effectively doubled the CPU speed while 256MB of SDRAM ensures high performance and a much-improved level of data throughput. Other features include three auto-sensing 10/100/1000 LAN ports offering load balancing and network fail-over as well as RAID protection for stored data and files. The NAS-4030 supports journal file system, snapshot, remote replication and online virus scanning features as well as Microsoft, Novell, Unix or Linux operating systems. It is distributed by Westan.
RRP: $4195 configured with four hard drives.
