(L to R): Analytics8's Hedde Schuitemaker; Accenture's Amit Bansal; Analytics8's Jean-Christophe Richard and Alexander Brown
Accenture is continuing on its buying spree, this time acquiring Melbourne-based big data and analytics consultancy Analytics8.
Financial details of the deal haven’t been disclosed.
The acquisition follows on from Accenture’s most recent purchase of cyber security company, BCT Solutions and the acquisition of Oracle partner, PrimeQ in December last year.
The latest purchase will see 70 Analytics8 staff join Accenture’s Applied Intelligence unit, which predominantly focuses on providing AI-based data, automation and analytics services.
Analytics8, which was founded in 2002, maintains clients across multiple industries such as healthcare and financial services.
The company has offices in both Melbourne and Sydney and is also present in the US with offices in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Madison, Minneapolis, New York and Raleigh.
“Our data scientists and data analytics expertise will complement Accenture’s applied intelligence capabilities and industry knowledge, allowing us to help customers further leverage data and analytics to transform their businesses,” Analytics8 co-owner Hedde Schuitemaker said.
Accenture chief analytics officer and global applied intelligence lead Athina Kanioura said having the right talent was a critically important aspect of how it delivers value to clients.
“The Analytics8 team’s deep technical expertise and experience advising clients across a range of industries will complement our own — bolstering our growing Applied Intelligence business, particularly in the Australian market, and creating new opportunities to help clients accelerate their digital transformations,” Kanioura said.
