ASX-listed Dubber has named former Telstra executive Chris Melican as its first channel sales director for Australia and New Zealand.
Melican will be in charge of developing Dubber’s A/NZ channel team and to build and execute a comprehensive global channel strategy, which is expected to be released later this year.
The appointment comes as the voice data capture and analysis platform provider expands its channel network to serve its growing enterprise and SMB customers.

Melican was most recently a principal at NPS Partners, a Telstra ICT solutions provider. He had previously worked for Telstra for approximately 11 years, where he was lastly national channel manager for data. Before joining the telco giant, he was also a sales manager at AAPT from 2003 to 2006.

“Our reseller partner network has been key to integrating our value-added services into customers of some of the world’s biggest telecommunications services providers, so we’re excited to evolve our global strategy and have a dedicated team to support the channel,” McGovern added.
Dubber reported sales revenue of $1.5 million (plus a similar amount in grants) for the year ended 30 June 2018 and a net loss of $11.3 million.
In June 2019 the company signed a deal to provide call recording and data capture services for Spark’s Cloud Phone service.
In March, Optus integrated call recording service Dubber into its unified communications (UC) product Loop, making it available to small-and-medium sized businesses.
