Mimecast's first channel director for Australia and New Zealand Rema Lolas has left the email and data security specialist after 15 months.
Lolas first joined the company in March 2018 bringing 14 years of experience in global channels, enterprise software sales and marketing, working for both international technology vendors and resellers on both sides of the Tasman.
Nick Lennon, Mimecast's country manager, told ARN that Lolas stepped down to "explore new opportunities and live overseas", having previously expressed the intention to him.
Prior to joining Mimecast, Lolas worked for Dell EMC as a senior alliance executive, service provider between May 2017 and February 2018. In one of her previous roles with Citrix, Lolas lived in the US for approximately five years.
Mimecast has been actively looking for a replacement and plans to announce a new channel director over the next few weeks. In the meantime both Lennon and Luke Coley, Mimecast's sales director for A/NZ, are sharing the channel director responsibilities.
"Rema did a great job of launching and bringing to market a local program that was part of a global roll out," Lennon told ARN.
"The growth and uplift in cyber security investment means that there is a great opportunity for Mimecast through channel. Rema has done a great job getting us to a point and lifting our message in the market and we'll build off that to continue to grow in FY20 and beyond."
The company has also been investing in hiring "great channel" talent to support its growth and it is currently looking for a New Zealand senior account manager as it looks to further invest in the country.
"We've seen some great traction in New Zealand over the last 12-24 months and that's been a big focus for us in FY20."
