Phil Rettenmaier (Westcon-Comstor)
Westcon-Comstor has appointed Phil Rettenmaier to the newly created role of vendor director with a focus on infrastructure and security companies.
Rettenmaier will be based in Sydney and will report to Phil Cameron, the distributor's managing director for Australia.
He will work alongside Steve Jones in overseeing the Westcon vendor portfolio, and will be tasked with driving vendor-specific specialisation, skills and accreditation, while delivering value to new and existing partners, the company said.
Rettenmaier joins from Arrow ECS where he was the HPE business manager. In this role, he led a team of sales, marketing, technical and program managers across the country and was responsible for developing and growing its channel partner network and vendors' business.
During his career, he worked for Epson, spent almost a decade at IBM, before moving to Melbourne IT (now Arq Group). He worked at HPE for six years prior to joining Arrow ECS.
“We will deliver operational excellence and continue to augment the level of support, technical enablement, vendor marketing and value we are bringing back to our partners through deeper vendor specialisation and skills,” Rettenmaier said.
Westcon works with vendors such as Avaya, Check Point, F5, Juniper Networks, Mitel and Palo Alto Networks to name a few.
“After a record year, we are thrilled to announce Phil’s appointment. He will join our local leadership team, and work in parallel with Steve to drive further partner growth and vendor specialisation in the Westcon portfolio," Cameron said.
