Telecommunications provider Vocus Group has appointed Lani Edwards as head of channel operations.
Edwards joined from Splunk where she led the channel from New Zealand to Western Australia for a year and a half.
She brings 15 years of experience in the industry and also working with the channel. Edwards is part of a team led by Vocus general manager of indirect and strategic partnerships Monique Esplin.
"The creation of this new team is part of a reinvigorated Vocus business that is aiming to double revenue in the enterprise, government and wholesale segment over a five year period and invest for growth in its channels," a Vocus spokesperson told ARN.
Among the companies she has previously work are InTechnology, Channelworx and Avnet Technology Solutions to name a few.
In 2009 she joined Juniper Networks remaining with the company for more than five years and holding the head of channel's role for A/NZ.
She was later named FireEye head of channels for A/NZ for more than a year, later joining Cylance, who she left as part of layoffs impacting the vendor globally.
Listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), Vocus recently revealed that because of the complexity of NBN pricing, a lack of pricing stability and operational complexity it no longer intends to grow its share of the NBN consumer market and instead will “focus on optimising the broadband experience for existing customers".
The telco provider closed the half year ended 31 December with revenue up by one per cent to $974.2 million. However, statutory EBITDA was down 10 per cent to $168.6 million, and net profit after tax dropped 59 per cent to $16.5 million.
