Rose UltraConsole

Uniting server and console management functions in a single switch is the sales pitch for this new piece of network hardware from Rose Electronics. Most at home in a server room or data management centre — where every device that can be eliminated creates room for more servers — this keyboard, video, mouse and console (KVM-C) switch combines functions previously handled by separate KVM switches and console access servers. KVM stations, local or remote, can connect to multiple CPUs or network or serial console devices attached to each switch (up to 1000 ports if UltraConsoles are connected by a Rose UltraBus cable connection). Embedded application firmware enables users to have unique password protected identities so that access to various connected systems can be controlled. The Rose UltraConsole is distributed by DataComm, Digital Networks, TechPlus and PowerCorp. RRP: from $1600
