Belkin Wireless 54g Cable/ADSL Gateway Router

Pitched for home office or business users, these wireless devices let users share files and a broadband internet connection among their computers wirelessly, offering the widest working range and greatest interoperability in mixed networking environments. Belkin’s 54g wireless networking products (i.e. router, access points and wireless cards) all run at speeds of up to 54 mbps and operate on the same 2.4GHz frequency band as 802.11b. The products are both backward compatible with existing 802.11b already installed and will continue to be operation and interoperable with new wireless 54g products as they are added to a home or business network. An SPI firewall is built-in to protect the network, as is an IPSec pass-through to allow users to work from another location via VPN. The Wireless Cable/ADSL Gateway Router device comes with Easy Install Wizard software designed to make set up as simple as possible. It also incorporates an internet content filtering software system.

Netgear FWAG114 ProSafe Tri-band Wireless VPN firewall

Dynalink RTW026 Cable/DSL Wireless Router

Dynalink’s RTW026 Cable/DSL Wireless Router with 4-port switch and Access Point enables sharing of an existing broadband connection. The Wi-Fi certified 802.11b Access Point allows connection of PC’s with wireless clients, whilst the high performance 4-port switch expands a local wired network. Feature-rich routing functions are seamlessly integrated for use with a broadband service in the home or office, allowing the operation of simultaneous bandwidth-consuming applications. Security features include Access Control via MAC address filtering, User Groups, content filtering, URL filtering, IP filtering, event logging and intrusion detection. Colubris CN1000 WLAN access point

The Colubris CN1000 wireless LAN access point offers major corporate offices a truly secure wireless extension to the wired network. Specifically designed for corporate customers, the CN1000 operates on the 802.11b wireless protocol and links the network server to the DSL/Cable modem. The unit supports as many as 30 wireless users and three additional network devices. The Colubris CN1000 accepts valid VPN traffic through its ports, making it a highly secure wireless access point. Advanced features include a coverage area as far as 100 metres, ease of management and customisable firewall.

Apple AirPort Extreme

For Apple lovers, the 54 Mbps AirPort Extreme, based on the IEEE 802.11g wireless draft specification, delivers nearly five times the bandwidth of the 802.11b standard. The new AirPort Extreme Base Station can serve up to 50 Mac and Windows users simultaneously. It comes with everything from wireless printing to a USB or Ethernet printer to power tools for administrators. AirPort Extreme consists of two components: the AirPort Extreme Card and the AirPort Extreme Base Station. The AirPort Extreme Base Station features a compatibility mode that automatically supports not just the AirPort Extreme Card, but all 802.11b-compliant products — Mac or Windows — as its default setting. The product includes firewall protection and 128-bit encryption to safeguard data from unauthorised users. The product also comes with Admin Utility software to increase or decrease the power level through the internal antenna, and thus control the range of the base station.
