Cohesity appoints Nexion as cloud service provider

Nexion becomes the first Australian cloud service provider partner

Perth-based enterprise solutions provider Nexion Network has become the first Australian cloud service provider for hyper-converged storage vendor Cohesity.

The new partnership will see Nexion provide a broad range of multi-tenant or single-tenant secondary data services from one web-scale, hyper-converged platform.

The service offerings span backup, archive, disaster recovery, filer, object storage, test/dev and analytics with the aim of providing a consistent customer experience across many cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

On top of this, it has also been appointed as an authorised reseller of Cohesity’s range of solutions for secondary data. The SaaS-based Cohesity Helios management solution will also give Nexion global access, visibility and control of secondary apps and data across all Cohesity nodes.

Nexion Networks joins Cohesity’s additional reseller partners in Western Australia, including Dienst Consulting and PSQ Group.

“Our typical customer today is a national enterprise that has a diverse storage load and needs to grow their capacity or re-engineer their storage. We offer these companies the ability to keep their mainframe infrastructure or tap into the cloud,” Nexion CEO, Paul Glass, said.

“At the same time, we’re also not forcing clients into long-term contracts through our model in offering month-by-month contracts.

Glass added it will roll out Cohesity as a public, private, hybrid cloud service with the first array going into the Perth data centre before the end of the year while Sydney and Melbourne will follow in the first half of 2019.

“Cohesity will further enable us to build secondary storage cost effectively because it seamlessly integrates with Pure Storage as well as with AWS and Azure,” he said.

Cohesity Australia managing director Theo Hourmouzis said Nexion’s recent partnership with Pure Storage and the purchase of its own data centre, complemented Cohesity’s ability to deliver the scale, availability, resilience, and efficiency that service providers require for advanced inline, variable length, cross tenant, and block level global deduplication.

“This is critical for achieving optimal levels of storage efficiency while enabling lower cost and fast data access,” he said.

“We look forward to enabling them to help customers eliminate data silos and deliver more value through the consumption-based pricing model, expert technical support and training.”
