Box has appointed Verity White as director of channel and strategic alliances in Australia, recruiting the partner specialist from Microsoft.

Effective immediately, White is tasked with building out the vendor’s indirect business locally, spanning alliance partners, service providers and resellers, alongside responsibility for strategy and sales on both sides of the Tasman.

“I’m thrilled to be joining and leading the channel organisation at Box Australia, especially at such a pivotal and disruptive time in the Industry,” White told ARN. “Box has an incredible opportunity, a great product, and a unique culture.

“I’m excited to work with our partner network to help Australian companies move to the cloud for content management.”

White joins Box from Microsoft, having spent seven years across a range of channel-facing roles in both Australia and the UK, including partner development, small business and distribution.

Founded in 2005, Box is an enterprise content management platform designed to allow users to share and access files through mobile devices.

Currently, more than 41 million users and 85,000 businesses - including 69 per cent of the Fortune 500 - leverage the platform to manage content in the cloud.

From a channel perspective, key strategic partners include Microsoft, IBM and Google, alongside Apple, Salesforce and Adobe.

The channel-centric appointment comes six months after Box appointed Scott Leader as the vendor’s first regional vice president in Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

As reported by ARN, Leader was previously the managing director of A/NZ for Pegasystems, a role he held for four years, in addition to roles at Reuters, Bloomberg, Australian Securities Exchange, NYSE, Euronext and SunGuard.

Based in Sydney, Leader is focused on building Box's A/NZ business, with a specific focus on large enterprise.

Locally, Box has offices in Sydney and Melbourne while outside of the US, the company also operates across the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Canada and Japan.
