City of South Perth adopts TechOne SaaS

Replaces on-premises system through OneCouncil

TechnologyOne has been selected by the City of South Perth to replace the council's on-premises system for the provider's own software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, OneCouncil.

The City of South Perth is looking for new technologies in order to improve both internal systems and, with time, provide a digital friendly way for customers to engage with the council.

The eight-year contract will provide the City of South Perth with a single, integrated enterprise software solution.

“This isn’t just an IT implementation, it’s so much more than that,” City of South Perth CEO Geoff Glass said. "We are expecting OneCouncil to completely transform our business and facilitate the delivery of excellent digital services to our customers, giving them unprecedented access to self-service anytime, anywhere.

Online services are expected to be rolled out to customers in the third year of the project.

“Switching to SaaS will also see the City benefit from significant year-on-year cost savings, world-leading data security, and the ability to stay at the forefront of innovation through regular system upgrades," Glass added.

The project is expected to go live in mid-2019.

"Once the project is live, the City of South Perth will no longer have to worry about the complexity of running or updating their software and infrastructure," TechnologyOne chief operating officer Stuart MacDonald said.

The Brisbane-based software vendor reported net profit after tax (NPAT) of $8.1 million for the half year ended 31 March, while its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering surged in value.

The company's SaaS annual contract value was up 51 per cent to $31 million per annum.

At the time, CEO Edward Chung said TechnologyOne was on track to reach $143 million per annum in the next 4 years.
