This 10/100/1000Mbps eight-port switch is designed to offer speed and features more readily associated with enterprise-level products to the SME and SOHO markets, according to D-Link. It gives smaller businesses the speed and bandwidth to move graphics, CGI, CAD or multimedia files to and from file servers more quickly. Features include non-blocking switching architecture that filters forward packets at full wire-speed, integrated 802.3x Flow Control to let both switches run at full duplex mode and an integrated half-duplex back pressure mode to alleviate traffic congestion by storing data and maintaining its integrity until bandwidth is freed up. Also available is the five-port DGS-1005D. Both models are distributed by BBF, LAN 1, Pacific Datacom, Page Data, Synnex, Tech Pacific and BJE.
RRP: DGS-1005D $354; DGS-1008D $522
