Queensland-based managed services provider AfterDark Technology has completed the acquisition of IT security and services provider Wilkinson-Kent Consulting.
Established in 2001, AfterDark Technology adds 50 new customers through the acquisition and expects to bolster its capabilities within IT security, business automation and the management of cloud migrations.
“The addition of WK Consulting supports our desire to increase our market share through a combination of acquisition and organic growth,” AfterDark Technology founder and director Stephen Gibson said.
“Strengthening our core services ensures our customers benefit from our growing pool of talent and expertise to help maximise the potential in their own business.”
Also based in Queensland, Wilkinson-Kent Consulting was founded in 2003 by Alastair Wilkinson and Tim Kent to provide expert IT service to businesses.
The consulting firm designs systems that are reliable and secure as well as offering services covering automation, cloud integration and IP networks.
Wilkinson-Kent Consulting's operation will be relocated to AfterDark Technology's Bowen Hills office.
"This is an exciting development for both WK Consulting and its customers," Wilkinson said. "For the past 15 years we have strengthened our position in the local business IT services market.
"Our acquisition by AfterDark now provides us with a stronger corporate platform to provide first-class services to our customers."
AfterDark partners with the likes of Citrix, Microsoft, Cisco and Ruckus Wireless among others.
The company will continue offer IT management, application development, communications and data protection services to customers in Australia and New Zealand as WK's services.
