Microsoft appoints new One Commercial Partner go-to-market lead

Internal transition takes place effective 1 August

Microsoft has appointed Nicole Robinson as its go-to-market lead across the One Commercial Partner (OCP) team in Australia, following an internal transition.

Effective 1 August, Robinson replaces Tony Wilkinson in the role, who is now searching for new opportunities within the business.

“A key component of Microsoft long-term success is the innovation that our partners deliver to bring customers’ digital transformation vision to life,” said Mark Leigh, director of OCP at Microsoft.

“FY19 is set up to be another breakthrough year for the Microsoft partner network and we’ll continue to enhance the core OCP operating model that we established last year.”

With more than 17 years experience, Robinson joined Microsoft in 2007, holding numerous management roles across marketing, business management and operations.

Most recently, Robinson was responsible for the vendor’s business planning and sales operations, leading a team of 15 people locally.

“I’m thrilled that Nicole is joining the team at this important time and that she will be a key part of helping deliver the best outcomes for our partners and our customers,” Leigh added.

While working as product marketing lead for Microsoft Office in the consumer and SMB segments, Robinson led the Office 365 consumer business to an “all-time high”, growing the base to almost one million subscribers.

During a 12 year career within Microsoft, Robison also served as business manager in London for the tech giant’s EMEA Trade Marketing Online Advertising team, with responsibility for day-to-day operations of the team across Europe.

Before joining Microsoft, Robinson also held product focused positions at Lenovo and IBM.

The appointment comes less than two weeks after a host of leading Australian partners were honoured on Microsoft’s global stage.

As reported by ARN, Rhipe, Velrada, Vector Risk, Adopt & Embrace and Advvy were among the local partners named as winners in the vendor’s Inspire Global Awards tally, with Datacom also tapped as a finalist.

Microsoft received over 2,600 submissions from 115 countries for this year’s Inspire Awards, with high calibre of submissions, according to the vendor.

Local publicly-listed cloud software distributor Rhipe was awarded the gong for Australia’s country partner of the year for 2018.
