Storage switch vendor, Brocade Communications Systems, has cut its workforce by 9 per cent, or 115 employees.
The announcement marks the second time in two quarters that the company has slashed its workforce. In November, Brocade laid off 160 employees - 12 per cent of its workforce.
Brocade, which said the layoffs were necessary to "better align and optimise" its business model, now has 1200 workers worldwide.
The company said it would take a one-time charge related to the layoffs in its second fiscal quarter that ended this month.
It would disclose the amount of the charge on May 14 when it releases its second-quarter financial results.
Brocade announced the cuts one week after it held its annual analyst day, when it said it was on track to reach its revenue projections of between $US128 million and $US133 million for its second fiscal quarter.
