Deloitte Digital goes on Aussie graduate hiring spree

Aims to be one of the largest digital and creative consultanties

Deloitte Digital has been on a hiring spree in Australia, adding no fewer than 38 new local graduates to its ranks over the past week in an effort to meet client demand.

The company hopes that the latest recruitment drive will make Deloitte Digital one of the largest digital and creative consultancies in the country, with more than 540 employees.

Deloitte Digital lead partner, Steve Hallam, said the company currently had applications open to recruit a further 63 graduates and 44 paid interns to start in 2019.

“We are looking for graphic designers, developers, software engineers, strategists, digital marketers, data scientists, service and user experience designers, along with AR/VR specialists to help keep us at the cutting edge of all things digital,” Hallam said.

The hiring spree comes on the back of the integration and growth of several businesses acquired by Deloitte Australia over the past two years, including Salesforce specialist, Cinder Agency, AR/VR specialist, Kid Neon, and interactive developer, Well Placed Cactus.

Deloitte’s graduate applications for 2019 will close 25 March 2018.

In November last year, Deloitte took on two former directors from US-headquartered consulting firm, CBIG Consulting, Cameron Price and Gerard Skybey, and their team of nearly 40 big data and analytics experts, many of which were set to be based in Deloitte's Australian offices.

In October last year, Deloitte acquired Australian IT consultancy, JKVine, in a deal aimed at building out a new platform test and optimisation unit in Deloitte Consulting.

Earlier, in May 2017, it acquired boutique managed services provider, Strut Digital, in a bid to bolster its cloud practice in Australia while October, it was Sydney-based Concur partner, Nesoi, that was acquired.

In 2016, Deloitte snapped up Melbourne-based systems integrator, Plenary NetworksMelbourne-based systems integrator, Sixtree, and marketing technology implementation specialist, Cinder Agency, among others.
