Former Fuji Xerox Australia channels (partners and alliances) executive general manager, Garry Gray, has been named as Red Hat’s channel director in Australia and New Zealand.
The appointment comes just over a month after the open source software solutions vendor’s local channel sales and development director, Colin Garro, stepped away from the role he had held since 2012.
Garro, who also spent years as Microsoft’s national channel sales manager in the local market, subsequently joined Australian email filtering company, MailGuard, as its new global director for sales and channels.
In his new role, Gray will be leading Red Hat’s trans-Tasman channel business, with the aim of continuing to develop and grow the vendor's partner community.

Gray joins Red Hat with decades of experience in the local tech sector, including a strong focus on developing channels ecosystems and alliances.
Gray’s most recent role, according to his LinkedIn profile, was as Fuji Xerox’s chief revenue officer.
An assignment role, Gray said the role saw him report to the local Fuji Xerox managing director, and lead the team responsible for the transformation of the company’s go-to-market sales and customer success initiatives.
From early 2014 to late 2016, Gray held the role of Fuji Xerox Australia’s executive general manager or channels (partners and alliances). Before that role, he was the company’s regional general manager for Queensland, based in Brisbane.
Gray has also done time with AAPT, Commander, Jtec, McDonnell Douglas and Telecom New Zealand, as it was once known.
