Sydney-based IT security distributor, Orca Tech has announced a distribution agreement with real-time IT analytics vendor, ExtraHop, the latest vendor to sign with the company as it builds up its distribution credentials.
The deal will see Orca Tech offer ExtraHop’s solutions across Australia and New Zealand.
“Joining forces with ExtraHop means we have a leading solution to offer our customers to gain full visibility of their own network, not just for security, but for real-time analytics offering insightful business intelligence they previously were not able to see,” Orca Tech general manager, Craig Ashwood, said.
According to the vendor, the partnership means A/NZ customers will have access to automated threat detection, correlation, and investigation.
“Strategic partnerships with innovative companies like Orca Tech are key to expanding our presence in the region,” ExtraHop vice president of sales for APAC, Albert Kuo, said.
ExtraHop global customers include Adobe, Microsoft, Salesforce, Flight Centre and MediLink.
Forcepoint's other distributors in Australia include M. Tech Products Australia and New Zealand and Tech Data Technology Solutions business, formerly Avnet.
Orca Tech struck into the local distribution landscape early last year, signing malware detection and prevention company, Malwarebytes, as a foundation vendor in April.
The agreement was the second such deal for the vendor in Australia and adds to its existing agreement with Cloud Distribution.
An OrcaTech spokesperson told ARN at the time that the company would place its initial focus on the mid-market and enterprise segments. It had aimed to target cyber security vendors in the $3 million to $30 million range and will work with any partner looking to expand its cyber security offerings.
“It’s an area where we can add value, and it is still one of the fastest growing segments of the overall IT market,” the spokesperson said. “Further, cyber security is a market segment we know very well and have significant experience with, from both a vendor and partner perspective.”
