Human resources consulting firm, Australian Recruiting Group, has increased speed across its layer of applications by up to 20 per cent with Macquarie Telecom’s SD-WAN services.
Macquarie Telecom, one of the business units from the public-listed company Macquarie Telecom Group (ASX:MAQ), also reduced the Australian Recruiting Group’s risk of outage and increased efficiency.
With the SD-WAN services, Australian Recruitment latency dropped by 10 per cent and the once common small outages, which affected the company at least once every month, have been reduced to none.
“PDFs and résumés, for example, open a few seconds faster – you can imagine how often that happens on a daily basis in a recruitment firm. It’s made us much more efficient,” Australian Recruiting Group ICT manager, Kiki Lwin, said.
Australian Recruitment currently has a hybrid environment as it gradually moves to the cloud. The recruitment firm currently counts with cloud services such as web-based recruitment platform, JobAdder, TechnologyOne’s enterprise cloud services and it has plans to implement MYOB’s Australia and New Zealand, and is planning to implement MYOB’s cloud.
“Recruitment, and the broader human resources industry, is heading for the cloud. We’re investing in cloud services and we need a low-latency network to enable us to do that effectively,” Lwin said.

The company specialises in the construction, industrial and manufacturing industries, and also works with the Federal Government to help indigenous people find public sector work through the Community Development Program (CDP).
Australian Recruitment deployed the SD-WAN services in its Melbourne offices, and it plans to expand this to its offices throughout Australia and potentially its overseas base in Manila.
Macquarie Telecom’s multicarrier, multipath SD-WAN uses whichever network link or links are strongest and automatically ‘changes lane’ between them in a matter of milliseconds if one link goes down, so the user experience is unaffected, according to the company.
It also claims to be the only provider in Australia who can guarantee a multi-carrier, multi-path approach that can truly evolve businesses’ networks and take the pain out of managing them.
