CorpCloud taps NEXTDC for network boost

Brings points-of-presence to Perth and Melbourne data centres

Western Australia-based unified cloud and telecommunications provider, CorpCloud, has established points-of-presence (PoPs) in two NEXTDC’s (ASX:NXT) data centres to support the company’s growth.

The PoPs will be in NEXTDC’s P1 in Perth and M1 in Melburne and will support the expansion of CorpCloud’s national network.

Established in 2016, CorpCloud uses its own network infrastructure as well as interconnected wholesale carriers and partners to deliver unified cloud and telecommunications solutions.

“NEXTDC has some of the best-connected data centres in Australia which made NEXTDC the logical choice for CorpCloud’s network expansion,” CorpCloud managing director, Jonathan Matthews, said.

“We originated in Perth, but more and more of our customers have a national presence, so it’s essential we’re able to scale with their business needs.

"Uptime is essential to the services we provide our customers, and the P1 and M1 data centres’ Uptime Institute Tier III certification assures us of the facilities’ resilience, so we don’t need to worry about a service outage,” he said.

NEXTDC holds Uptime Institute’s Tier III Standard for concurrent maintainability on P1, M1 and S1 data centres.

The US-headquartered Uptime Institute created the standard Tier Classification System to evaluate data centre infrastructure in terms of a business’ requirements for system availability.

In October 2017, NEXTDC received the Tier IV Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF) from the institute.

The data centre provider was the first in Australia to receive the TCCF and also the first Asia-Pacific colocation data centre.

“Enhancing the strategies used in their Tier III data centres, in B2, NEXTDC has achieved Australia’s first Uptime Institute Tier IV Constructed Facility Certification and globally, the first Tier Certified data centre with a Fault Tolerant N+1 redundant IP-DRUPS electrical system,”  Uptime Institute managing director for South Asia, John Duffin, said at the time.
