Neil Morarji - Acronis A/NZ general manager
Data protection and storage vendor, Acronis, has named former Odin and Parallels executive, Neil Morarji, as its new general manager in Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).
In his new role, Morarji will head up the Switzerland-headquartered vendor’s growing Australian team as it further develops its relationships with local partners and service providers.
“I’m excited to turn the company’s global strategic thinking into a local execution plan and accelerate business growth in Australia and New Zealand,” Morarji said. “The market is mature and ready for our products.”
Morarji comes to the role with over two decades of experience in the cloud and digital transformation space under his belt.
Before stepping into his new role, Morarji managed Ingram Micro’s cloud platform business, Odin, in Asia Pacific and Japan as its vice president in the region for roughly two years, during which he was responsible for business growth, professional services and alliance management, and driving and maintaining sustained growth across regional cloud partners.
Prior to his tenure at Odin, Morarji held the position of a managing director at Parallels in A/NZ, a role that saw him build partnerships with some of the countries’ largest services providers and hosting providers.
Morarji has also done time at Macquarie Telecom, WebCentral/Melbourne IT and Data#3.
“Neil brings strong leadership and a wealth of experience to our Australian team,” Acronis Asia Pacific vice president, Steve Goh, said. “His market knowledge and understanding of Acronis technology is going to propel our business into the future.
“We’re bringing the world’s best data protection solutions. With Neil’s management, we’ll continue to build our team and extend our presence in the region,” he said.
Morarji’s appointment comes almost a year after Acronis signed a distribution agreement with Synnex in Australia, spanning the vendor’s entire data protection and disaster recovery portfolio.
