Ingram Micro has signed a distribution agreement with AlienVault, bringing the security vendor’s threat detection suite to the Australian channel.
Terms of the agreement will see the distributor offer access to AlienVault’s Unified Security Management (USM) platform, while providing added capabilities in the cloud through Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
“Their technology and security solutions are the perfect complement to our already robust security portfolio,” Ingram Micro Australia general manager of software Kelly Johnson said.
“We take great pride in giving our partners a world class choice in solutions and we have already seen strong demand for AlienVault’s security management platform.”
Headquartered in Silicon Valley, AlienVault specialises in threat detection, incident response and compliance, alongside vulnerability assessment and asset discovery capabilities.
From a channel perspective, the vendor predominantly works with value-added resellers, system integrators and managed security service providers, leveraging technology alliances with Cisco, Fortinet, Carbon Black, Blue Coat and Palo Alto Networks along the way.
“Our investment in the channel is a strategic part of AlienVault’s growth,” AlienVault vice president of global channel sales Mike LaPeters added. “Teaming with Ingram Micro will enable us to provide its network of partners with the robust capabilities of our unified security management platform.
“As the world’s largest technology distributor with deep expertise in both on-premises and cloud security, Ingram Micro understands the needs of our market.
“We look forward to working with Ingram Micro to expand our footprint and enable channel partners to proactively detect and respond to today's threats in cloud, on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.”
According to LaPeters, AlienVault partnered with Ingram Micro in Australia to tap into the distributor’s market reach across the country, backed up by added expertise across cloud and security.
Under the new distribution agreement, partners will gain access to AlienVault’s platform, which provides controls required for threat detection, incident response and compliance management in cloud and on-premises environments.
In addition, AlienVault offers native solutions for AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure, while providing protection for Office 365 environments.
“For government departments and companies that have to ensure they meet mandated security standards, AlienVault provides the necessary peace of mind,” Johnson added.
