Data centre value add distributor and Exclusive Networks subsidiary, BigTec A/NZ, has added storage vendor, Cloudian, to its portfolio.
Cloudian HyperStore storage systems start small and can scale to petabytes, allowing customers to quickly respond to changing storage needs.
It also offers 100 per cent native S3 API that is guaranteed compatible with S3-enabled applications. Built on industry-standard hardware, Cloudian solutions deliver enterprise-class scalability and data durability at 70 per cent less cost than traditional Tier 1 storage.
The A/NZ distribution agreement will see BigTec drive adoption of Cloudian HyperStore object storage among key enterprise markets via channel partners and managed service providers, which will also have access to sales, presales and technical support.
“Enterprise customers are increasingly adopting global S3-compatible object storage," BigTec A/NZ general manager, Alex Teh, said. "Thanks to Cloudian’s HyperStore they now have the opportunity to place that storage capability in their own data centre premises, or to host it with a local cloud service provider.
"This circumvents data sovereignty, and provides predictable cost and modular scalability. Channel partners will be keen to take advantage of this unique technology.
"Not only is HyperStore fully in step with the BigTec philosophy of compliant, automated, simplified, low OpEx, high scalability Data Centre operations, but there are also outstanding synergies with the rest of our BigTec solution stack."
Cloudian complements BigTec’s product portfolio, particularly with cloud data management provider, Rubrik, which is also a Cloudian technology alliance partner.
“We see major opportunities around solving NAS data sprawl, and radically reducing the cost of storing cool primary data," Teh added.
"In fact, any requirement to reduce the cost-per-terabyte of storage or leverage the super-scale capacity of object stores is a potential win."
Exclusive Networks data centre sales operations manager, Mark Ransom, added Cloudian would be suitable for partners within the data centre and cloud adoption space that are looking for something different to take to their customers.

Cloudian vice president of sales, Jon Ash, is currently in Australia and said BigTec played an important part of its expansion strategy in the A/NZ market, already identifying significant opportunities in the market. The two companies already maintain a successful relationship in Europe.

BigTec is a standalone subsidiary of Exclusive Networks that was launched in September last year, specialising in the data centre market.
