Océ Australia has appointed Craig Nethercott as managing director for the Oceania region, with the new appointee starting on 1 October 2017.
Nethercott currently holds the director commercial print at Canon UK and Ireland. His appointment follows Canon Australia’s plans to transition its production printing products to Océ Australia from 1 January 2018.
Gavin Gomes, director of Canon Business Services is currently leading the area and will continue until the transition in January.
He has 17 years of experience in the print industry spread across both Canon and Océ UK. He held several senior positions and worked across sales, services and marketing.
“Nethercott will be instrumental in continuing to strengthen Océ’s comprehensive suite of products and professional printing services, driving a cohesive team to build on Océ’s history of innovation and excellent client servicing,” the company said in a statement.
Nethercott will be based in Melbourne and will be setting up the organisation and working alongside Canon Australia to make decisions about the company’s future until the official commencement date. He will also ensure a smooth transition for customers and employees.
“I look forward to commencing my role at Océ in Australia, continuing the company’s growth trajectory and ensuring our customers’ needs remain at the heart of our business,” Nethercott said.
Océ CEO and president, Anton Schaaf, said that Australia and the Oceania region are “unique and strategically” important markets for the company.
“With nearly two decades of valued experience across the business, Craig will play a pivotal role in delivering strong results while continuing to put our customers and employees at the centre of what we do.”
Digital imaging, industrial printing and collaborative business services Océ is a Canon Group subsidiary.
In June, Océ's parent company bade farewell to its former general manager of sales, Kaaren Lewis, after just four months in the role, with Lewis instead taking charge of channel operations for Commvault across Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).
