Australian-listed digital workplace software business, LiveTiles (ASX:LVT), has expanded its operations to the US, appointing former Microsoft executive, Doug Caywood as vice president central USA to target the centre states.
According to LiveTiles, as central US is home to 27 per cent of the Fortune 500, the region represents a large and growing opportunity for LiveTiles as it looks to continue to grow its enterprise base and further penetrate the US market.
In the role, Caywood will be responsible for leading LiveTiles relationships with major companies within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector, managing LiveTiles existing CPG customers such as PepsiCo and Nike.
He will also utilise his pre-existing relationships to capture additional market share in looking to build out its blue chip enterprise client base.
The company said that Caywood brings a deep level of expertise to the new role.
As former worldwide consumer goods industry director at Microsoft, Caywood managed CPG customer relationships, set strategy and delivered solutions to some of the world’s largest CPG companies. As such, he also brings well-established connections to the new role and a strong understanding of LiveTiles target customers.
Prior to Microsoft, Caywood served at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) and EMC.
“As someone who has spent a lot of my career working closely with large consumer packaged goods clients and developing innovative solutions that meet their specific needs and requirements, I was instantly convinced that LiveTiles’ offering had huge potential,” he said.
“I’m excited to be joining the team and truly believe this is an innovative product. I’m keen to start growing LiveTiles’ operations in the central US.”
LiveTiles co-founder and chief executive, Karl Redenbach, said having Caywood on board, following such a high profile role at Microsoft, provides the strongest endorsement of LiveTiles’ product offering and potential.
“Caywood will be responsible for an enormous region in the US and for building out our offering, targeting some of the world’s largest consumer packaged goods companies, and fostering relationships with our existing blue chip customer base.”
Caywood’s appointment comes as LiveTiles also brings former Walmart executive, Kendra Bluhm, onboard as innovation and experience lead.
Formerly, one of Walmart’s senior data analytics managers, Bluhm lead a team that was responsible for driving analytics across Walmart’s key strategic business functions to provide insights and recommend improvements across the organisation.
She also has a background in IT security, IT management and systems integration, having overseen numerous technology implementation projects.
“As an avid user of the LiveTiles software, I am a strong believer in the strength of the offering. It is a real game change for enterprises and how they can build out their digital workspaces," said Bluhm.
"I’m really excited to be part of such an innovative company and looking forward to playing an active role in being part of its overall success,” she said.
