M. Tech set to distribute Carbon Black

Distributor aims to offer “flexible” cyber-security solutions for partners

Endpoint security vendor, Carbon Black, has inked a new distribution agreement with regional specialist security distributor, M. Tech.

The new partnership sees M. Tech offer Carbon Black’s antivirus solution, Cb Defense, to its local reseller base.

“Key to this partnership is our ability to provide Carbon Black with a steady stream of new opportunities,” M. Tech regional director A/NZ, Paul Lim, said.

“While we have a strong focus on security, our portfolio has lacked an antivirus or next-generation antivirus solution. So we will be presenting Carbon Black’s solutions to the market through our broad partner network across Australia, and across Asia-Pacific for any trans-national customers.”

Lim added that M. Tech selected Carbon Black after careful evaluation, which proved to show that its solutions offered a wide feature set in the endpoint security market. Additionally, Lim said the company showed an ability to respond quickly with new technology to counter the changing local cyber-crime scene.

“Our partners want the flexibility to offer next-generation endpoint protection technology to their customers not just as a resell but via methods such as managed security services and even professional services such as incident response.”

“Carbon Black’s flexible partner model enables our partners to serve customers the best technology in the most appropriate method,” he added.

Carbon Black Asia-Pacific and Japan managing director, Kane Lightowler, said next-generation endpoint security is taking off across Australia due to the increased sophistication of attacks and proliferation of ransomware.

“Being focused purely on information security, M.Tech’s partners are the best of the best in Australian information security. Carbon Black’s next-generation endpoint security solutions make a great addition to their product portfolio,” Lightowler said.
