Brennan IT has expanded its team with a double executive appointment, designed to help spearhead growth across its mid-market and channel businesses.
The internal revamp sees Wayne Simmonds appointed to the role of sales manager, business development, and Andrew Borthwick to the role of head of partners and channels.
Specifically, Simmonds’s role is to grow the Sydney-based company’s customer base throughout New South Wales and Queensland, managing a highly-skilled team in each state.
“We will leverage the outstanding mix of products and solutions that Brennan IT offers to give customers in the mid-market the kinds of functionality and capabilities previously only accessible by enterprise-level organisations,” Simmonds said.
Simmonds comes from a large enterprise-focused background and plans to bring some of those best practices and processes to how Brennan IT works with smaller organisations.
For example, the way Brennan IT approaches opportunity selection, account reviews and planning, and strategic planning with clients will become more structured and tailored.
“Brennan IT isn’t constrained by traditional corporate thinking so it’s possible to develop creative, bespoke solutions for organisations,” Simmonds added.
“This includes strategic pricing and solution-building that lets mid-market organisations access capabilities they may have considered out of reach previously.”
Meanwhile, as head of partners and channels, Borthwick will manage vendor relationships and develop a channel to market for Brennan IT that has not been considered previously.
This includes finding non-traditional paths to drive sales engagement, while growing the hardware and software business division by understanding how cloud is changing that market and responding appropriately.
“Working for an agile organisation like Brennan IT is exciting because of the opportunity to be entrepreneurial and to make a difference,” Borthwick added.
“Brennan IT offers a full end-to-end solution that not many other Australian organisations can deliver, making it an ideal provider for organisations in the mid-market who want enterprise-level solutions without enterprise-level complexity.”
Previously, Borthwick helped create a private LTE network for a large resources company in Queensland, with such approach now forming a key part of Telstra’s product offering.
“Having the right personnel in place is crucial to success in any organisation,” Brennan IT CEO, Stephen Sims, added.
“Brennan IT is currently transforming across the business so it’s even more essential to have a strong team on board.
“Both Wayne and Andrew were hired for their exceptional track records and their extensive enterprise-level experience, which will translate well to the type of service Brennan IT is looking to offer the mid-market.
"We anticipate continued strong growth under the leadership of these two executives.”
The double appointment follows the hiring of Simon Wheeler as the company's first CIO in October 2016.
As reported by ARN, Wheeler has been charged with developing and managing the company’s internal strategy, and transitioning legacy systems and processes to automation and transformation.
