SAP has appointed Colin Brookes as its new chief operating officer for A/NZ.
The new appointment sees Asia-Pacific and Japan chief operating officer, Paul Marriott, and A/NZ chief financial officer, Gina McNamara, relieved of their interim duties as temporary chief operating officers following Jim Fisher’s resignation in October 2016.
The new role sees Brooke step in from the SAP United Kingdom and Ireland (UKI), where he served as COO for two years.
Upon joining the team in A/NZ, Brookes will be responsible for leading SAP ANZ’s sales support infrastructure and the operationalisation of its strategy.
Prior to SAP UKI, he also held executive leadership roles across the globe including Software AG Australia and New Zealand, FormScape Software, Knowledge Support Systems and CA Technologies.
“I see many similarities in Australia and New Zealand to the UK and Ireland – a market on a new digital path, underpinned by a transformation to the cloud,” Brookes said.
“In a now often cloud-first if not cloud-only world, I look forward to leading a team that enables our customers to succeed in their digital innovation journeys,” he said.
According to SAP president and managing director for A/NZ, Stephen Moore, the success of customers, partners and people is at the core of the SAP business.
“As we continue to help our customers digitise and grow in Australia and New Zealand, Colin brings invaluable experience to the COO role. We look forward to the outstanding achievements he and his team will deliver,” Moore said.
