Queensland-based distributor, inTechnology Distribution, has signed a distribution agreement with US cyber security vendor, Core Security, to distribute the company’s products in the A/NZ market.
InTechnology Distribution COO, Jason Burn, said that the vendor's security offerings deter security risks via a plethora of processes.
These include: multi-factor authentication, identity and vulnerability analytics; and detect and respond to compromises on the network from infected devices.
Additionally, the cyber security offering also remediates security risk through governing controls such as access provisioning and de-provisioning, and validates security controls through compliance certification and pen testing.
“Comprehensively, the Core Security portfolio is a complete offering,” Burn told ARN. “From understanding what your vulnerabilities are to compliance standards, and being able to identify, remediate, and manage threats.
“We do not have a solution in our portfolio which does that complete cycle and from what we see in our partner base, specifically now that the majority of them are targeting service based offerings, is that they want to have a comprehensive capability,” he said.
Burn suggested that many partners offering similar services had been acquiring multiple solutions from different vendors and combining them together to make an complete offering.
“We believe the products from Core Security are going to make that a lot easier for many of the MSPs [managed service providers] and other partners who are looking to offer services,” he said.
The new partnership is the result of months of discussion between the two companies, and Burn said the distributor wanted to ensure it knew the product range intimately before bringing it to the local market.
“Now we have the opportunity to build out a local partner program which will take some cues from the US program, but Greg [Bunt] is going to be able to develop a program that is feasible and appropriate for the local market,” Burn said.
Core security A/NZ sales manager, Greg Bunt, said the partnership would allow the company to lay the foundations to attack the local market.
“In the Australia and New Zealand market, channel is key and it was the first thing for us to do to get a presence with a distributor which adds value,” Bunt said. “The guys at inTechnology are key to our plans in that respect.”
“Each market is different and the incentivisation [for partners] has to be different as well. There is a lot of product in the market and the challenge is how to gain that attention.
"For me, that is about engaging with customers and working with partners to make sure they understand the offering,” he added.
