A nationwide hunt is underway for the best PC modders in Australia. A 3.2GHz PC is on offer for the winner of the Intel PC Mod Challenge.
The top eight entries will be showcased at the Australian finals of the World Cyber Games (WCG), to be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on August 30 and 31.
The Australian finals will host about 100 gamers who have progressed through their respective state competitions. Those who become national champions will travel to Seoul, Korea, in October, to battle 55 other nations at the WCG Finals.
Entries for the Intel PC Mod Challenge must be functional and use a Pentium 4 processor.
Intel and media representatives will judge entries on creativity, technical skill, performance and functionality.
The major prize is a new PC with a 3.2GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor with hyper-threading technology and Intel 865 chipset.
Entrants must send a photo of their modified PC, along with a one-page description of the entry and an explanation of why a high performance processor enhances the mod.
All correspondence is to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entries close on August 22.
