ED appointed Borland distie

Express Data has signed up as distributor Borland’s Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) software products in an effort to tap in to the growing demand for application development tools in the enterprise sector.

Express Data decided to add Borland’s application development and management tools to its product line-up after it noticed organisations were increasingly looking to develop their own applications in-house instead of outsourcing.

“Since the dot-com days, companies are finding ways to make their businesses more efficient in terms of operations and cost,” Express Data’s channel marketing manager, Greg O’Loan, said. “So companies are finding things they can do themselves and bringing them in-house, and refining their operations so they work better.

“We’ve seen fair amount of growth in development products we represent, which include Macromedia and IBM Websphere, so we began speaking to Borland a while ago about adding their products to our portfolio.”

Borland’s range of ALM enterprise solutions are designed to assist development teams – analysts, software architects, developers, testers, deployment groups and managers – to build strong bridges between the various stages of an application lifecycle.

The software products provide specific tools for various stages such as deployment, development, testing, design, management and definition of systems’ requirements.

With office in every major city in Australia, Express Data will significantly broaden Borland’s market reach. It joins Alstom IT and niche database and development tools specialist, Softgen, as a Borland distributor.

"Express Data is a clear leader in terms of its compatibility with our plans to expand Borland business within the ANZ market," managing director for Borland Australia, Andrew Munro, said. "The company's proven record of technical support, management and value-added service to resellers is a large part of its success."
