Wavelink opens health practice for partners to offer specialised solutions

Focuses on compiling solutions specific to public and private healthcare facilities in A/NZ

Australian specialist distributor, Wavelink, has launched a new health practice designed to bind together solutions for its partners, specifically targeting the health sector in A/NZ.

Leading the new practice is Paul Craven, appointed as health practice lead with a view to drive the premise of the practice. This is to equip Wavelink partners with a higher level of specialisation.

Craven joins Wavelink from Cumulus Technologies, where he served as director of sales for about seven years. He is also the owner of CenturionIT.

Through distributing solutions that can improve patient care and drive operational efficiency for public and private hospitals and aged care facilities, Craven said he sees a big opportunity for partners.

“The healthcare sector continues to make significant investment in IT. In the aged care sector alone there are currently 190,000 beds in Australia with an additional 82,000 beds expected to be required by 2022.

“With the ratio of staff-to-beds not currently mandated, and increased pressure on staff due to the growing number of highly-dependent residents, the need for solutions specifically targeted at this sector is huge.”

According to Craven, examples of use-cases span location-based services, duress, surveillance and workflow management.

Wavelink managing director, IIan Rubin, agreed with Craven in that tapping into the health sector will offer a wealth of opportunity for the niche distributor.

“Wavelink has now formally established the Health Practice and undertaken a number of important steps to ensure an even greater focus on this growing market sector.

"This includes the appointment of Paul Craven, a seasoned industry professional with extensive experience in public health, who will head up the practice.

“We have also invested heavily in our product portfolio by bringing on new vendors that can meet the unique demands of the healthcare sector.”
